Overview

According to "A Manifesto For Cyborgs" written by Donna Haraway, a cyborg is a "cybernetic organism, a hybrid of machine and organism, a creature of social reality as well as a creature of fiction...the boundary between science fiction and social reality is an optical illusion." And guess what! "We are all cyborgs." Cybercultre studies focuses on Americans and their devotion to , obsession with, and dependancy on technology; technology is integrated into every single part of human life. At one point, the reality of present day American society only existed as science-fiction. It is up to us to decide the future of such a reality. Do we embrace the science-fiction truth and "progress" towards a completely cybernetic future in which the boundaries between human and non-human disappears?
